Acharya Balkrishna is the Founder and Secretary of Patanjali Yogpeeth Trust and has been actively involved in providing a scientific research platform for the validation of Ayurvedic drugs for various diseases.

Known to be a silent worker with sober behavior, Acharya Balkrishna obtained his education under the guidance of Late Acharya Shri Baldevji, in the Guru-Shishya Prampara at the Gurukul at Kalwa (Jind, Haryana). This made him the great visionary, energetic, highly ascetic, diligent, easy-going, and the versatile personality we know him as today. Along with these, he has multi-dimensional skills and is actively participating in the service of mankind.

Acharya Balkrishna is a person that possesses qualities that help him stand out from others. One of his most admirable traits is his ability to listen patiently, talk less and work more towards fulfilling the interest of the general masses.

Apart from being a brilliant scholar of Ayurveda, the Vedas, and Sanskrit, Acharya Balkrishna is also well versed in Sāṅkhya Yoga, Pāṇini’s Aṣṭādhyāyī, Vedas, Upaniṣads and rich Indian cultural Philosophy. He is also the leading figure when it comes to ancient lifestyle, traditions, and natural healings. His relentless efforts have made it possible for the ancient Ayurveda culture and traditions to be acceptable to the masses in these modern times. With the help of Ramdev, Balkrishna founded Divya Yog Mandir Trust in Haridwar in 1996, and then they founded the famous fast-moving consumer goods (FMGC) company, Patanjali Ayurved, which is why people know him as Balkrishna Patanjali. Patanjali Ayurved manufactures and trades FMCG, herbal and ayurvedic products. Balkrishna is providing a sense of direction for the better performance of the clusters of Patanjali units and subunits, in coordination and liaison with the related heads of the units.

According to Balkrishna Patanjali, he took out a loan of approximately $50 million at a time when he had never opened a personal bank account before. However, his investment did not fail and the company reported a turnover of $59 million, and within a few years, that turnover increased to $660 million.

We all have seen Ramdev as the face of Patanjali and he markets its products to his followers across his yoga camps and television programs. However, he does not hold any stake in Patanjali Ayurved. The majority of the stake lies with Acharya Balkrishna, i.e., 94%.

In the year 2020, Acharya Balkrishna was listed in India’s 50 most influential personalities and was reported as India’s third-youngest billionaire by Forbes India Rich List 2020.
