Based in Udupi, 99Games is India’s leading developer and publisher of games. It was founded in 2008, by Rohit Bhat. Wordsworth was their first game, and it was a super hit as it crossed more than 1 million downloads among Apple users. In 2013, they released their most successful game to date, based on the Bollywood movie- Dhoom 3. Since its inception, they have released 22 game titles, and have almost 100 million downloads globally. 

4. Games2Win

Games2Win, founded in 2005 by Mahesh Khambadkone and Alok Kejriwal in Mumbai, is one of the world’s largest mobile game publishers. It has approximately 200 million app downloads. It offers online gaming portals, in-game ad networks, mobile social networks, and proprietary games. Their games are available on Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and Apple.

5. Octro 

Octro Inc. was founded in 2006, in Delhi. It is the orchestrator of the famous games Tambola House and Indian Rummy which were launched in the same year. They were the first to introduce the concept of productivity along with gaming in India. Octro has become one of the fastest-growing mobile gaming companies and has games topping charts on Google Play and Apple iOS. The digital revolution over the past few years has also helped the gaming startups in India rise to a higher level. It was further fueled by the startup culture that has taken over the country by storm.
