Gates started earning money at an early age from building software and selling them for a considerable chunk of money. In his late teens, he had already sold two software and was on his way to becoming the behemoth he is today.

It wasn’t until 1975 that Bill Gates and Paul Allen co-founded a software company named Microsoft. Due to a lack of capital, they had a slow start. They started by delivering small software products to various firms in the US.

However, this process had to halt soon as they started facing financial crises. But, Bill Gates, being the pioneer he is, did not want to give up. He found out that the reason for this crisis was the usage of pirated software. So, both Allen and Gates launched MS-BASIC, which made them a profit of $50,000.

Microsoft started making a name for themselves, and in 1979, IBM approached them to develop a program for their new and upcoming personal computers. However, Microsoft lacked the resources and gave up on the project.

However, after a few months, Microsoft launched a new OS system, called 86-DOS, which brought them the success to be able to launch MS-DOS. After this, Microsoft returned to IBM and offered them their new OS, MS-DOS. IBM accepted to use this OS in their first-ever personal computer that they were about to launch. The rest, as they call it, is history.

Microsoft and Bill Gates never looked back from that moment and became the pioneers of the computer world. This short story aimed to highlight what made Bill Gates a successful entrepreneur.
