Microsoft Windows, also referred to as Win or Windows, is one of the most popular operating systems in the world developed by Microsoft. It is a graphical operating system that allows you to store files, access photos and videos, run different software and programs, and connect to the internet. First launched in 1983, Windows went through its fair share of developments, and now the latest version – Windows 11 has been launched by Microsoft. After multiple updates, the latest versions of Windows most commonly have two editions: Windows Professional and Windows Home.
The Windows professional or pro edition includes a computer that allows you to control another Windows computer device connected to the internet remotely. Some other features are BitLocker that helps in file encryption, Hyper-V, which acts as a hypervisor running as third-party software, and many more. In contrast, Windows home is an elementary edition of the operating software. This edition of the OS is designed for performing simple tasks such as watching videos and pictures, connecting to the internet, and surfing the web. It is usually preinstalled on many computers and is the least expensive edition of Windows.
There is also a third edition that is commonly used called Windows Ultimate. Today the most used version of Windows is Windows 10. Keeping in mind the success of Windows 10, Microsoft decided to launch a more upgraded version, Windows 11, and it released on June 24, 2021.
Introducing Windows 11
This version of Windows has improved significantly compared to its previous versions, such as Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. Microsoft has made upgrades and added many new features with the launch of Windows 11. It also provides a direct update from Windows 10, Windows 7, and Windows 8.1. This feature allows a vast expansion of the user base for Windows 11.
The new version comes with more attractive icons, but the most significant change in this version is the taskbar. As the design suggests, Microsoft may shift it towards the center. However, the start menu is without live animation titles and offers a new feature of faster shutdown or restart of recent files or pinned apps. All in all, Microsoft has made significant updates and improvements that fix various problems that you and other users faced while using the previous versions of Windows.
System requirements for Windows 11
Microsoft provides certain upgrades to users worldwide. So if you want to install the new OS, your computer needs to fulfill some requirements. Windows 11 IOS file comes in both 32bits and 64bits. The minimum requirement for supporting Windows 11 is a 1.2 GHz single-core processor of 32 bits or a 1.4 GHz single-core processor of 64 bits. You also need a minimum of 2 GB RAM, at least a 15 GB free hard disk space, and a 1024 x 768 screen resolution.
However, these are just the minimum requirements; slightly higher standards are recommended to make it functional. The recommended requirements are a 2 GHz dual-core processor or higher, a 4 GB RAM or more, free disk space of 18 GB, and 1680 x 1015 screen resolution. So before the installation of the OS, these are the requirements that must be present in your computer to fully and adequately run Windows 11.
New features of Windows 11
There are some new features in this new OS that are inspired by some previous versions of Windows. Some implication of this includes some features and designs which have been borrowed from Windows 10X. However, it features some new elements such as a new start menu, search bar, and taskbar. The latest version of the operating software also comes with an entirely new user interface.
The upgrades include having new animation features that provide you with unique visual effects while clicking, selecting, or dragging items and icons. Even opening new Windows, minimizing or maximizing it, has different animation effects that differ from the previous versions of the operating system. Other visual updates include rounded corners of new tabs – a new icon design that looks better and more attractive. You will also be able to access dark mode that allows you to work in the dark without getting the pressure of bright light on your eyes.
Other effects include sounds that have been upgraded in this version. Since the release of Windows 10 in 2015, there have been no significant changes in sounds effects. But this version solves the problem, as it provides you with various kinds of sound effects when a new device is an input or output in the system. Some other features include multi-tasking using split-screen, creating multiple tab groups or various tasks in Windows, and many more. Different kinds of widgets are also present in this version.
The License Price of Windows 11
It is pretty hard to guess the Windows 11 price in India as there is no fixed price tag announced by Microsoft yet. Compared to the previous versions of Windows, such as Windows 10 or Windows 8.1, it is fair to contest that Microsoft has made changes to the price tag as it is a new and updated version. Windows 11 price may vary depending on the versions, just like it was the case with previous versions.
As the Windows 10 home, the previous versions of Windows are now ₹ 10300; Windows pro is ₹ 16500, and ₹ 22800 for workstations. So you can assume it will be approximately around these figures, if not more. While it remains to seen whether Microsoft will provide this in-built OS for budget laptops under 30000 or not but you can easily download Windows 11 by visiting the official Microsoft website; however, it is not recommended to download early leaks or crack files as they may harm your system. This upgraded version has many new features that allow you to work more efficiently and give elaborate access to your system, thus making it more user-friendly.
